11 of 30: Back to Me

Last week was no good. It rained everyday so taking pictures or dressing cute was not an option. I spent most of the week in jeans and a hoodie (insert sad face). I'm not really a hoodie kind of girl, but I'm also not a getting wet in the rain kind of girl either. 

This skirt and shirt combo was part of my 30 for 30 cheat day. They were each $7. I could not pass them up. Did I ask you to forgive me? Yes? Well, forgive me again.

8 of 30: Mellow

 I woke up this morning and felt like the weekend never happened. Don't you hate that? As a result, I was a little chill at work today. Didn't have any interest in doing too much, seeing as I'd have rather been sleeping. But I made it through. 

I must confess that I broke 30 for 30 this weekend and bought this shirt, another shirt and a skirt. I only spent $20, but I know you all are going to stone me. Here's my excuse: Gap was having a sale where you got 50% extra off of sale items and I've been crying saying I have no bright colors or patterns. So, I had to buy these things. Please forgive. I humbly ask for this. :-(

6 of 30: Forgotten

This weekend was a lazy once, thus there is only one outfit post from the weekend. Unless you all really want to see my favorite pajamas and the t-shirt from my church's vacation bible school. Didn't think so. 

Here's a quick look at what I wore on Saturday for a Juneteenth Festival performance. I had a great time singing and opted for something comfy and easy for this extremely hot day. 

4 of 30: Old Man

Something about what I'm wearing today reminds me of an old man and I love it. Maybe I was an old guy in a former life. That's if I believed in former lives. And since I don't, I think this was purely a very great mistake. I didn't try to look like an old guy, I just do. Brilliance. 

This outfit came together in the dark. Really. It stormed last night (yeah, so it finally rained and I was sleep) and the power was out this morning. So, I had to shower and find clothes in the dark. Luckily, the lights came on or I would have really looked like an old guy today. lol

3 of 30: Like Rain for Water

I've been thinking it was going to rain all day. Everytime I walked outside, I was like 'it smells like rain". Needless to say it's almost 5pm and there is no rain. I hate that in between rain feeling. Just rain already. I'm an artist and rain for me is like an aphrodisiac. I create my best work in the rain. Yes, I'm weird and I'm proud. Thank you.

Today, I wanted to go for a semi-business look. Business up top, casual down bottom. It was like a mullet for clothes (you know, business in the front, party in the back. no? ok.). So, I paired this really cute off white top of my mom's with my striped blazer and wide let jeans. I even tried layering necklaces today. So, all around, it was a good day for style. It was 10 times better than what I wore yesterday and hated. I give this an A (I guess if I'm grading myself, then I'm grading on a curve huh?).

2 of 30: C+

I really love this dress, well the color, but there is something about the bottom of it that just annoys me. I think that's where this whole outfit began to go downhill for me. I want it to fit to me, but it does this random thing around the thighs. So, I've concluded to take it to a tailor and fix this problem because I'm over it! 

I decided to wear two separate prints today, something I've never done. I wish you all could see my brilliance, but my camera battery is dead and I had to use a smart phone camera for photos and the lighting outside was strange. You see where this is going.  I guess that means I'll have to try again. I give myself a C+ for today's outfit and that's just being honest. It looks good, but if it doesn't translate well to photos and that's not really good for a style blogger. On to tomorrow!

1 of 30: Unmentionables

Today is the first day of 30 for 30 and I'm pretty pleased with my first outfit and my first photos!

I called this post "Unmentionables" because I totally forgot to take a picture of this skirt and cami in my post of picks. But I did count them. No, I don't have some really crazy story about underwear. Sorry. ha ha! 

Oh and about this jacket. I was so excited when I bought it at the thrift store a few weeks ago. It was $0.75! Can you believe it? I cant. Whoever gave up this gorgeous paisley jacket is the best person in the world to me right now. And I'm so excited that this is 30 for 30 time because I have a few ways that I want to wear this jacket. I'm pretty excited about that.

30 for 30 begins tomorrow and I'm a little excited. Probably too excited, but hey I have little excitement going on right now. So, don't judge me. 

I've chosen my clothes for the challenge, some of which I am second guessing as we speak, but I think that will make things more exciting. So get ready for some fashion fun!

Another Again!

Well, it's that time again! Kendi of Kendi Everyday is starting her 30 for 30 challenge on Monday! I said I wasn't going to do it, but seeing as I have a ton of summer clothes to choose from and I'm super bored here in Alabama, I decided I would do it and I would actually take pictures everyday of what I wear. Sounds good, huh?

What's 30 for 30? I'm sure some of you are wondering. Basically, you choose 30 items from your closet (shoes, skirts, dresses, pants, shirts) and you commit to wear ONLY those things for the next 30 days. Accessories aren't included in the 30 items, so you are free to have fun with them. You also, can't shop for the next 30 days. The purpose? To show us stylish folks that we have amazing things in our closets that can be worn more than one way. Fun right? Yea.

I'll be going through my closet tonight and pulling out my choices to show you all. I'm going to think longer and harder about my picks this time. In the winter everything I had was blue, grey or black. BORING. SO, hopefully, I'll bring you some really fun outfits and some great remixes!

Somebody join me this time, PLEASE! It's really fun and it teaches you how to dress all over again. You're like a 3 year old. You can't buy clothes, you have to figure out what matches, it's exciting! C'mon!
