Anyone that knows me knows that I often look at things and proclaim "I can make that!" Sadly, I never really attempt to make them. But I still believe I can. Well, this summer I'm committing myself to a few DIY projects in hopes of proving that I really can make "that".
As I've been researching online, I found two really cool DIY projects that I want to try first. I'm super excited about them and plan to share my success or (God forbid) failure at Doing It Myself here with you!
The Striped Umbrella
One of my favorite bloggers, Jessica Quirk of What I Wore, just created a post that I thought was AMAZING and ADORABLE. She made her very own vintage striped umbrella. Of course, I instantly said "I can make that". Now, I'm not sure if I can, but I figure I could spend about 8 bucks and try. So, be on the look out for my very own vintage and Jessica Quirk inspired striped umbrella.
Here are some photos of her making it! You can see the entire post here. I'll also be posting the steps and photos of me making my own soon!
iPad Clutch
Another one of my favorite blogs, PS I Made this (a blog dedicated to DIY projects), made this incredibly cute clutch out of, get this, drawer liner and tape! I was too happy when I saw it! Too cute, right? I'll probably be creating this one first as I'm so excited to see how it will turn out.
Check out the entire post here. Also, be sure to check back here to see how mine turns out.
I hope some of you will opt to DIY and try one of these really cool projects. If you do, feel free to email me (mystylishfriends@gmail.com) or tweet me (@MyStylishBlog) photos of your materpieces!
Good luck to us all!
Later loves!
